Hello Guys! Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 One UI Watch Is HERE! So almost a month ago, Google revealed at their annual I/O event that they are partnering with Samsung to bring wear OS and Ti zen together to form a single operating system for smartwatches in the Android world to better compete with Apple and their Apple watch. Today, Samsung at the mobile world congress has revealed the first look at this new OS for smartwatches. They are officially calling it the One UI Watch which is built on top of the unified Wear OS platform co-developed by Samsung and Google, just like how OneUI is built on top of Android in their Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung mentioned that the new OneUI watch will provide a “consistent experience and look with other Galaxy devices.” Samsung also confirmed that their next Galaxy watch aka the Galaxy Watch 4 will debut this new operating system at an Unpacked event later this summer. They have also shared some software capabilities of this new OS. First, the Galaxy Watch 4 will feature support for auto app installation. I mean when you install a watch-compatible app like Spotify on your smartphone, its smartwatch version will be automatically downloaded on your watch. Furthermore, the new platform will also sync blocked contacts across all connected Galaxy devices.
I mean any calls and messages blocked from the Galaxy Watch will also be blocked on the smartphone and the other way around. It will also automatically sync any customization you make in the Clock app on your phone to your smartwatch. Some of these may not feel like a big thing but these will surely improve the user experience. But the biggest change or I might say benefit the Galaxy watch 4 users will get is to use the entire Play Store ecosystem, allowing you to easily download all Wear OS apps on your smartwatch. Wear OS greatly benefits from the strong integration of the app ecosystem that it has access to in the Google Play Store.
Samsung also revealed that they will release a
new Watch Face design tool to help designers
create unique watch faces for their watch which means their upcoming
watches will feature support for plenty
of third-party watch faces. Of course,
Samsung didn't reveal all the features of the One UI Watch, they will keep some
to reveal at the Unpacked Event and will
showcase it on the Galaxy watch 4. The
event is happening on August 3rd where they will also reveal their new
foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z
Flip 3 . So Thank you guys!
