Hello Guys! Today we are talking about TECNO Camon 16 and I can tell you that it's back is classy. It's shiny and it's elegant-looking having its curved edges. I can say that it's looking kind of similar Redmi Note 9S which has a square shape camera in the middle. What I really like about this one is its screen is big. Guess what? 6.8in IPS LCD 720 pis its screen size which is very, very, very, very generous for watching movies, Netflix, and gaming. You'll be very satisfied. Now, we tried watching movies on this one and I can tell you, well, it's okay. It's a very, very big screen and its front camera punch hole is on the very corner which is kind of not an obstruction to look at.
Then, definitely I can say the experience is very, very nice because of its big screen. And don't forget,it has a MediaTek G70 chipset which is popular nowadays for gaming at a budget level. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage which is okay. It's ample enough. Then, it's paired with Android 10 and its OS is HI OS 6.0. We've looked at its benchmark. AnTuTu gave it 185,000 points which is okay for me. It's really for entry-level gaming. At the same time,we've look at Geekbench. It's got 379 single-core points, then its multi-core points is 1,321 points which is okay, it's already roughly on the mid-range level.
I also looked at its AITu which is a bit low having only 26,000 points. It's quite below my expectations. Now, this is what we're waiting for, the Widevine security level. DRM info only gave it L3 on Widevine Which is okay because it's only 720pso you won't really be able to watch HD on this phone that's why it's no big deal. Now, I tried playing my favorite game which is the Call of Duty. It's okay. I've killed many and I can tell you the gameplay is smooth,though from time to time there's some frame drops and lags.It's inevitable since this phone is really not built for gaming. This phone is mainly a camera-centric phone. Overall, I can say that the gaming on this one is okay.
What I like about it is its screen is very, very large being 6.8in. It's very, very nice and the viewing angle is good. I can tell you that overall,the gaming experience, it's okay. It's good. It's G70 which means it can handle games like Call of Duty, ML, and PUBG. So guys, since the aim of this phone is photography, let's look at the specs of its camera. It has a 4MP main sensor,2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor, and of course it also has an AI lens. Now, it's also paired with 5 LED flash which is unusual. It's my first time seeing a phone with 5 LED flash.
It's called penta LED flash. Then of course, in front,it has a 16MP front camera which is for me it's more than enough to take good selfie shots. Now, let's look at the shot that I took on this phone. I was surprised with the shot that I took on this phone. Jokes aside, the shotson this one is very good. On outdoors, it's very clear. An its night shots and low light shots are kind of good because it has what you call "Ultra Night Portrait powered by TAINOS™" which is probably its technology that it put on this one. The shots are really good. Let's now look at the selfie shots. The selfie shots are also okay. I mean it's also seamless,though there are times that when it's dark,when there's lack of light, my face would be kind of washed away.
Overall, when you use this selfie camera with good lightings, the results are great. Then, let's look at the video that I got from the front and rear camera. Guys, right now, we're holding the TECNO Camon 16, and this is a camera phone so we're just trying to test how good this camera is,and it seems to me the front camera is crisp and clear. And yeah, let's turn ourselves around and check it out. Well, I'm quite dark here against the sun. So, this a better view. Okay.So again, to sunlight is- Well, as we all know,hard to adjust to the lighting. So yeah, there you go for the front camera of the TECNO Camon 16.
Hey, the shots are also surprising from the front and rear camera for video.It's okay. It's not that jittery. It's very sharp and smooth. Especially the front camera,I can say that it's okay for basic vlogging. The camera is very, very good. It really lived up to its hype for camera that's why it's called "Cam on". It also has a big battery.Its battery is 5000mAh which supports up to 18W of fast charge. And, we've tried draining its battery down to 17% and then I charged it back to 100% using another charger but the same cable from the box because I want to try if we can achieve 18W. Also, we tried a 33W fast charger.
We've just achieved only 12W. Then, we've finished charging for two hours and 48 minutes which is, for me, it's kind of slow because it didn't maximize its 18W fast charging capability. Then as usual, we determine its screen-on time using PCMark battery stress test. We put it on 50% screen brightness, then we run it all day,and we got 17 hours and 39 minutes which is okay, it's durable. This phone is very, very okay for daily usage. For me, I lasted two days before I charged it again.
For basic photography,with some video, a bit of social media, a bit of YouTube,and of course it's inevitable that you'll call, so it roughly reached two days before I charged again. It's fine, right? It's durable. So guys, we have now finished reviewing this TECNO Camon 16 and I can tell you that I really like it's design. It's very, very elegant.Then, the screen in front is very, very generous. It's screen size is 6.8in which is okay. It's big. It's very satisfying watching movies. And the processor is not bad also. It's G70. But, it's not the highlight.
The highlight on this one,and where I was blown away, is its camera output which is very nice, crisp, clear, I didn't expect that it would be this good, the camera of this Php7,990 pesos phone. It's amazing, right?Normally, the camera that I'd expect to be good is at the level of Php13,000 or higher. But this one, being only Php7,990,achieved the okay shots that I want. Though, of course it may not be as good as the Huawei Mate 40 pro that is really amazing having a Leica lens. This one is okay already.
